Angela D. Patterson, CPCO, CMPE, has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) by the American College of Medical Practice Executives, the certification entity of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).
The designation of CMPE demonstrates that Patterson has achieved board certification in medical practice management. Through industry-leading board certification and Fellowship programs, ACMPE examinations assess knowledge of the broad scope of medical practice management skills sets as outlined in the Body of Knowledge for Medical Practice Management. These include business operations, financial management, human resource management, information management, organizational governance, patient care systems, quality management and risk management. The individual must also earn a minimum of 50 continuing education credit hours.
Today, MGMA membership is comprised of more than 6,600 individuals who have attained CMPE or ACMPE Fellow status. MGMA is the premier association for professionals who lead medical practices. Patterson is Vice President of Compliance/HR at Comprehensive Medical Solutions, Inc. (CompMed), a company that specializes in billing and practice management for physicians and medical practices. She has been with CompMed since 2010 and has over 25 years experience in medical billing, compliance, HR, and billing system software development and analytics. She is also certified by the American Academy of Procedural Coders (AAPC) as a Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO). She is an active member of her local Cleveland, Tennessee AAPC Chapter where she has served as President and was recently elected Treasurer for 2019. Ms. Patterson is a member of the RBMA (Radiology Business Management Association) and the Tennessee Anesthesia Administrators Association (TAAA).
Patterson said, “I am very excited to have achieved this designation and look forward to completing my Fellowship next year.”
Patterson has been accepted into the MGMA Fellowship candidate program. She has two children, Hannah and Max, and resides in Cleveland, Tennessee.
